Frequently asked questions
if you once built up a pension with us

Did you work at Robeco in the past and build up a pension there? Then you are a former participant in Robeco Pension Fund. You no longer build up new pension with us, but what you have built up remains yours. That pension will move into a personal pension pot. On this page you’ll find answers to the questions that apply specifically to your situation. Looking for answers to questions that apply to everyone? Take a look at the general questions.

The pension you have built up will be converted into capital in a personal pension pot. That capital stays invested, so it can grow or fall depending on the returns achieved. You no longer build up new pension with Pensioenfonds Robeco.

No. Compensation is intended for participants who may be worse off because the current system for building up a pension is being scrapped. Former participants no longer build up a pension with Pensioenfonds Robeco and are therefore not affected by this change. That is why they are not eligible for compensation.

  • choosing a risk profile that suits you (defensive, neutral, aggressive, or aimed at buying a fixed pension);
  • choices at your retirement date, such as retiring earlier or later, a higher/lower pension and exchanging your partner’s pension;
  • the choice between a fixed and a variable pension when you retire.

Participants who have not yet retired will choose their own risk profile: defensive, neutral, aggressive, or aimed at buying a fixed pension. The capital in your pension pot is invested on that basis.

Investment risk is scaled back as you get older. The risk profile you choose determines how quickly this happens and to what extent. From the moment existing pensions are transferred, all participants follow the neutral lifecycle. Once all the checks have been completed, during 2027, you will be able to make your own choice.

The partner’s pension you have built up will be converted into capital under the new scheme. This capital is invested so that it can continue to grow. When you die, this capital provides a partner’s pension for life.

In principle, no. Existing pensions are transferred automatically. It is sensible, though, to:

  • keep your contact details up to date;
  • read the forecast letter in November;
  • think about which risk profile you might want in future.

You can register your partner via My Pension on our website pensioenfondsrobeco.nl. You don’t need to register your children.
